Creeting St Mary celebrated the coronation of King Charles III in style with a barn dance, a field fayre and a big clean-up of the village and churchyard.
The barn dance was enjoyed by over 100 people. It was so great to see people from all generations enjoying dancing together, there was so much laughter as everyone tried to master the dances. The food halfway through was a welcome chance to catch our breath.
On Sunday, for the "Big Lunch" we had a field fayre with sports day games, ice cream van and lots of fun on Blacksmith's field. Despite the weather predictions, it stayed dry and people enjoyed the sunshine well into the evening. We had a lucky dip, tombola, WI cake stall and second-hand clothes in the village hall. So many people put so much time and effort into making it a special afternoon and they certainly succeeded.
The "Big Volunteer" day on Monday saw many of us with litter pickers and yellow tabards cleaning the village followed by an hour in the churchyard mowing, strimming, and weeding. Our village looks glorious!
